This is a very fun and challenging course for golfers of any skill level. 1st off; the price is very reasonable especially for seniors. The course is owned by the city of Wilson, NC. It's very well maintained and although at first it appears to be a fairly open layout, it can cause you to underestimate how much trouble you can quickly find. The terrain changes are not huge but you will find some variety in altitude. It is very wise to keep your shots in the fairway (as with any course) because the rough can eat your golf ball like a hungry green fiend. If you hit into a adjacent woods or field you're going to need a second ball, so don't even try to find it. There is a good number of over or adjacent to water shots to be made. The fairways are fast, the greens are usually cut for a fairly fast roll (between 8 and 11) and there are a couple blind shots that make this course a bit tricky. The doglegs will make you use some of your best draw and fade skills and there are some risk reward carry's that will challenge long hitters. It has adequate restrooms and water available on the course so you don't dehydrate. The clubhouse is a nice facility and has food and drink to keep you going. I rate this course very good but it borderlines excellent.
