I really want to see this course in the summer. Dormant Bermuda in winter creates some thin lies and lacks the beauty that the course may have. Greens still need some work. Sounds like some changes to the course are coming in the spring.
Good Course for money paid
Course in reasonable shape. Good work has been done on high rough areas to clear worst of weeds and brush. Makes it easier to find errant balls and helps speed up play. Snakes not out yet so this will be even more helpful as weather warms. Sand traps had small rocks in them. Greens had some areas with resodding. Staff friendly and helpful. Started round on back side-not best situation. Pace slower than normal as some ahead of our group poor players, thus slow.
After turkey
Course in decent shape except for greens which need work and rolled. Some sand bunkers also need repair and work. Cart paths in some locations result in a jolting experience. Good layout design. ***
Great layout; conditions improving.....
I played this course a couple of times recently and the greens were really in pretty bad shape and the bunkers weren't raked but now the greens are coming back and today all of the bunkers were in excellent condition. Tee boxes and fairways are always in very good condition. I think they still have bent grass so the greens really took a hit this summer with the heat and then all of the rain we've had here. But now only a few of the greens are in really bad shape; most of the rest are in very good condition. As I said in an earlier review this has always been a favorite layout of mine and I'll return again for sure because the conditions are certainly on the upswing. I do wish they'd go to bermuda at some point.
Greens need work
Fairways, tee boxes were excellent. Bunkers were fine. Many greens were in bad shape. Got a nice HOT DEAL so the price was right. Little River has been one of my favorite courses. Layout is awesome. Nice mix of long holes and very short holes but the green conditions will need to improve or play will diminish in such a competitive market. There was almost no one on the course at 11 am on a beautiful Friday in October. Not a good sign. I will come back on a hot deal.
Excellent Course
Great place to play a challenging round of golf at a very competitive price. I will return.
Very nice course
Played Little River with friends, very beautiful course,
in great shape and with some challenging holes.
I would recommend to play this course!
Nice layout
Conditions were sadly poor due to recent rain especially greens. Layout nice: could be very nice after repair. There were very few players the day we played and GolfNow price very inexpensive so we had a very nice round.
Nice Course
The ladies tees set up well. The course is very beautiful with woods all around. Wide fairways are great for the 'not so straight' shot. Some greens were a little bumpy but the course may have just been aerated. Staff was nice and the price was right!
Great Layout
This course has a great layout. The fairways are plush and there are a lot of interesting shots. Although the greens on the back nine need repair, they were working on them. This course has great potential. I look forward to playing here again!
An excellent layiout but Course needs to redo the greens
The course used to be a favorite, but it has been neglected, The bent grass greens can not stand up to summers anymore, course needs to bite the bullet and put in Bermuda greens. I understand the course is being sold so perhaps that will happen.
Greens were in bad shape due to hot weather
Overall great course and layout though
Sanding the greens
This would have been a great day except they were sanding the greens and it was like putting on a beach. I wish there was some way that the course or Golfnow would let the customer know if the greens had just been worked on. We drove 45 minutes to play here only to find out that the putting was hopeless.
Course has great potenial, but needs some TLC
The course really needs some TLC and good grounds keeper.
The pace of play was slow, slow and slow. Instead, of the starter/ranger having people tee off on the 10th and 1st to speed the pace of play up, everyone started on the 10th. Carts were backed up 2-4 deep. As well as during play.
It is a same, because the inside lobby, rooms and bar(19th hole) area are beautiful. 19th hole temp closed.
I don't see a current greens fees on their website, but if they are over $50, say no way. This is a golf now .com golf course
Poor Course Oversight
It took us 3 hours to play 9 holes. Even on a Saturday this is ridiculous. No marshals on the course to manage pace of play. No water in the dispensers and a heat index near 100! No on-course carts providing water, food, snacks...nothing! I'll try another local course next time.
Some of the better conditions for bent greens currently in the area
With the high heat and humidity in the area, I expected extreme burn out on the greens. There were a few spots, but the greens rolled true and our foursome was pleased with the conditions from tee to green. We will return there soon.
Course is looking tired
Have played Little River several times over the last 10 years. It is sad to see nice facility start to go to seed. It is a tough track for an average golfer. The bent grass greens held approach shots and putted well but were burning out. They really need to consider changing to Bermuda greens for long term viability of the course. Clubhouse staff was limited to two people and the person handling the carts wasn't really interested in taking care of our bags...his loss. Restaurant was closed. Having a Hot Deal made it a reasonable experience for a day. It is clear money is needed bring this club back to good health.
