I loved the old Cape CC before the renovations, however the new Masonboro CC has really grown on me. The course just keeps getting better and better as it matures. Just missing a nice clubhouse and some other amenities and it would be 5 star to notch. The course itself is no joke. Tough greens, narrow fairways and unforgiving bunkers, as well as water everywhere. Play from the easier tee's until you get a feel for the layout..

MCC is a fair yet challenging golf track. A " players club" for sure. Course is kept in tour shape. Tee boxes, fairways and greens are well kept. You will see the course gets attention from a fine greenskeeper and ground crew.

Water on the first 3 holes gets your attention! There are safe means to the flags but you need to do your course management. While you won't find the course long by yardage from the whites ( 6,012 yards) the 71.6/133 is real and i find the whites challenging enough for my index of 8.

To prepare for the golf round, MCC has an excellent practice facilities including short game, green side and fairway practice bunkers, green grass range with 5 or so flag placements and unlimited range balls. Their putting green is very much what you will experience on the course.

I find MCC to be my favorite course in the greater Wilmington area.
