Waynesville Golf Resort & Spa is tucked away in the Great Smoky Mountains. The location is conveniently close to Asheville, yet the views from the club's 27 holes will make you feel much farther away. The holes are divided into nines that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. Although the front nine of the Dogwood/Blue Ridge golf course was built in 1929, it's complemented perfectly by the Blue Ridge nine, which was added in 1986. The front nine has several risk-reward opportunities but there's also trouble lurking along all the greens. In addition to being the newest, the back nine is also the longest and most difficult of the three. The layout tumbles across dramatic elevation changes, winding along one side of a stream up into a valley before snaking down the opposite side.
