Reviews
This course was a disappointment
It had a nice layout but was extremely dry. It was like playing on a farmers field. This course is surrounded by water so there is no excuse. Even with the discounted green fees we were still disappointed.
po dunk
This is by far the worst course I have played in a very long time. The lay out was non discript, and not very interesting. This course is in very bad condition' I think there was only about 3 real blades of grass on the entire course. The course might be OK for beginners but I would not recommend it for the average glofer.. p u
Course was in very poor condition
It had been over 15 years since I had played this course and time has not done it any favors. The course was in very poor condition and did not look like it was well maintained at all. The facilities were dated. Not worth the money
Brierwood
The staff were friendly and allowed us to play ahead of a group so we were able to move at our own pace as a two some. There had been recent rain so the carts were kept on cart paths only. Fairways were in average condition with some wet spots and some downed limbs. Greens were inconsistent with some in good shape and others with burn-out spots.
Great value
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We are staying in a house in Sunset Beach, so we did not have access to a printer. I forgot to write down the confirmation number, but we were warmly welcomed anyway. Lots of rain the past two days, but the course was in reasonable condition... bunkers were not so good, though.
We needed to stay on cart path, which is quite rough due to growth of pine roots beneath the asphalt. We are not low handicappers, so were pleased with the low fees for a fun course!
Quick Round
Partner and I got around in 2hr56m at 65+ yrs young. The starter was top notch. Got us off the back 9 because there was a big opening and only two of us. The course is open enought to keep the ball in play which helped our fast round. One young foursome let us play throught on number 13 and we rolled on. Hope to play this course again soon.
Fun
Staff are super friendly. Almost hidden within a housing development. Enough distance to keep houses out of play though.
Very interesting.
Greens in better shape than Lockwood Folly and Liins Paw.
Very good course. I enjoyed playing this course
This was a very good course and the price was a bargain. The course was in very good shape. The staff is very friendly. I was playing with a few members. The members were very friendly.
Local's course with locals prices for everyone
One of the original golf course/housing development projects, but unlike a lot of the newer ones, the best land was not saved for the housing developer. The course is well laid out with the homes not intruding on the course, so you do not get that claustrophobic feeling. There is a decent amount of water, all of which is well marked, but it does not come into play most of the time unless you are way off line. The water does come into play on the 10th hole as it is a dogleg right with a lake down the entire right side, which you must then carry on your approach shot. Visually intimidating, but even an average drive to the center of the fairway leaves you an approach of less than 150 yards., though it does look longer. Pace of play was very good. We played in just under 4 hours, with cart path restrictions on all but 4 holes on the back nine. They had received 2.5 inches of rain a few days earlier, but the course was drying well, as a matter of fact it was draining better than most of the overpriced courses just south in Myrtle Beach.
Nice Course
The greens had patches that looked bad, but actually did not affect the roll of the ball. The speed of the greens was pretty fast and they did not seem to hold a ball well. It was still winter type conditions overall. They could have had better direction information on the card or at tee boxes. In any case I would play the course again.
average at best
When searching for golf courses in myrtle beach this course should not be offered. I booked the course thinking it was in myrtle beach. It is more than 30 minutes away and not in anyway near the condition of courses in myrtle beach.
Decent course. Fun to play
We started on the back nine and failed to look at the direction of the hole. It was not on the card & we were slightly confused by the dog leg right over the water. From then on we looked at the sign at each tee box and it was fine from then on. There is water on the course, but was well marked with flags indicating the edge closest to the fairway. That was helpful. We also liked the greens. They were very fast. The only problem I had was they did not seem to hold a ball. I can check the ball pretty well at most courses, but had a difficult time here. My wife ended up putting from several feet off the green to avoid running chips off the back. All in all this was a very enjoyable course.
Average course
The course is an average course, good for beginners. Not much challenges.
