If you are in the area and want to spend a relaxing afternoon at a golf course, this is the one to visit. They have a driving range, putting green and a grill.
The front 9 will get you warmed up for a real challenge on the back 9. Back 9 has lots of elevation changes with sloping fairways. Water hazards that are fair with a good shot. They have no sand traps (yet), for it would be almost unfair. The greens roll true even in there dormant state, can't wait for summer time. Brand new golf carts. Winter rates are the best in area and summer rates are in line with other area courses. The staff is super nice and seek to make you feel like one of the regulars. I see no reason you shouldn't like your round at Shamrock.

Lost 5 golf balls in 18 holes, with 3 of them being in the fairway. Could not find the balls because of the 3 to 4 inch clover in the fairways. I have never seen so much clover on a golf course. The greens were in pretty good shape but the fairways ruined it for me.

I was very happy to hear that the course was opening back up on Sept. 6 2013. I grew up about 2 miles from the course and send alot of time there in the summer months. The entire Walker family was always friendly and put up with my getting into things I should have not. I send alot of time with one of the course' s employees that did course maintenance, I think his name Slade. He was a black man and super nice and patient with me as I followed him around as he went about his daily chores. Boy those were the good old days, any way let the course know you're glad they are back by playing a round there.
